Hi, Iβm Joyβa speech pathologist with a passion for helping children and their families find their voice.
My journey began when I graduated from the University of Queensland in 2015 with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology. Inspired by my experience working in a transdisciplinary team alongside occupational therapists, behaviour support practitioners, and early childhood educators, I decided to further my education with a Masters of Education at Monash University in 2019.
As a mum, Iβve seen firsthand the impact of early intervention, and I believe that we, as parents and professionals, play a crucial role in shaping the future by supporting childrenβs development from the earliest stages.
Growing up in a Cantonese-speaking household where English was my second language, I can understand the frustrations of not being able to communicate effectively. Thanks to a dedicated ESL teacher who helped me overcome those challenges, Iβve become passionate about helping others find their voice, just as I did.
When Iβm not in the clinic, youβll find me baking up a stormβmacarons, cupcakes, you name it! During the COVID lockdowns, I taught myself to bake and discovered the joy of sharing my creations with friends and family.
Iβm here to support your childβs communication journey with warmth, understanding, and a bit of fun along the way. Letβs work together to help them thrive.
